About Kodiak, AlaskaFishingHuntingCamping

Getting to Kodiak is really quite simple. You only have two options: By plane or by boat. Either way that you choose it is best to be sure and plan well in advance since there are limited flights and ferry trips.

Alaskan Airlines (800-252-7522) is our major air carrier onto the island but there are regional airlines which offer different flight schedules for the short one hour flight from the mainland. As usual there are restrictions on what sort of items you can or cannot transport on an airline, whether you are coming or going. If you are a hunter or fisherman and you plan on taking some of your game home with you be sure to check out the airline regulations. We have printed informational brochures that we would be glad to send to you just give us a call or e-mail.

The M/V Tustumena travels by sea to and from Kodiak and Port Lions by way of Homer or Seward. You can arrange to bring a vehicle on the "Tusty" but this requires special planning and we advise that you book your passage well in advance. Contact the Alaska Maritime Highway System, Kodiak terminal at 800-526-6731 or check them out on the web www.akferry.com
